Visit by Minister Chan Chun Sing to ARC-NTUC Fairprice Training Site in Pathlight Campus 2

17 April 2013

Mr Chan Chun Sing, Acting Minister for Social & Family Development visited a training site run by Autism Resource Centre’s (ARC) Employability & Employment Centre (E2C) on 17 April 2013. Thank you Minister for visiting us and for pledging to provide adult employment opportunities for people with special needs. We also wish to thank NTUC Fairprice, and specifically CEO Mr Seah Kian Peng for being willing to work with us to walk that extra mile and have the systems and structures in place to make this work!



World Autism Awareness Week 2013

2 to 8 April 2013

Every year , autism organisations throughout the world celebrate the event with interesting awareness events reaching out to members of the public. In Singapore, several unique events were organized. Much awareness was generated, as information brochures about autism were freely distributed to those who participated in these events.



ARC Social and Leisure Club (SLC) Visits Peace-Connect Neighbourhood Link (PCNL)

29 September 2012

The ARC Social Leisure Club (SLC) is a social hub for Pathlighters who have graduated from school. This September, we went on our first community service project, a visit to Peace-Connect Neighbourhood Link (PCNL) in Kampong Glam to play host to 50 old folks. This pilot community project was a heartwarming success. True enough, given the opportunity and belief, our members are capable of opening new doors. We look forward to more community service projects in future!



The Harvard Din & Tonics Meet Pathlighter

4 August 2012

This was a day of excitement for 6 students of the Pathlight Schoolhouse Jam performing group. They have practiced hard for 3 months to sing with the Harvard Din & Tonics for their first public and audience paying performance, The National Din Parade concert in School of The Arts (SOTA) Concert Hall.



A Very Special Walk 2012

AMOUNT RAISED : $483,000.

A VERY SPECIAL WALK 2012 took place on 14 July 2012, with the target to raise funds for the recently launched Employability and Employment Centre (E2C). Thus the theme this year was, "With training and support, people with autism can work".


World Autism Awareness Day (WAAD): Autism Seminar for Healthcare Professionals and Caregivers

In conjunction with World Autism Awareness Day, Duke-NUS Medical School, in collaboration with Autism Association (S), Autism Resource Centre (S), Rainbow Centre, St. Andrew’s Autism Centre, organised a seminar series for caregivers and healthcare professionals.

It's Play Time for ARC & Pathlight Staff At Universal Studios Singapore!

ARC and Pathlight School recognize that it is not just about work all the time. As part of its team building exercise, ARC/Pathlight brought more than 200 of its staff to Universal Studios Singapore on 24 June 2011 for a day of fun! Everyone had an absolute blast that day!


'Art for Autism' Exhibition

To commemorate 2011 World Autism Awareness Day, Pathlight School staged their first panel of eight artists in the 'Art for Autism' Exhibition on from 1 to 3 April 2011, aiming to raise the level of awareness of the special talents of people with autism.

Autism Lifespan WeCAN Learning Congress 2010

1-3June 2010

 

560 delegates witnessed the official launch of the Autism Lifespan WeCAN Learning Congress 2010 by Guest of Honour, Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports on 1 June 2010. The opening of the Congress was attended by more than 60 invited guests who have in one way or another supported the autism community in Singapore.

'Christmas isn’t Christmas until….'

Total Amount Raised: $132,602

Dance Spectrum International (DSI) presented the dance performance “Christmas isn’t Christmas until…”, on 1st and 2nd December at the Victoria Theatre. The event helped to raise funds for the Pathlight School Building Fund.


A Very Special Walk 2007

Total Amount Raised: $520,791.50

This year we has to increase our target amount to $500,000. The New Building Project was in the planning process and we were time-pressed to raise sufficient funds to enable construction to start.

A Very Special Walk 2006

Thank you for making A Very Special Walk 2006 a success again!

With the support from Chong Boon Secondary School, 01 Raffles Scouts/ Gryphons Alumni, this fund raising event managed to raise a total gross of $375,218.95 for the Pathlight School Building Fund and Poor and Needy Fund.

A great crowd of 800 participants turned up at the usually serene Marina City Park A for A VERY SPECIAL WALK, jointly organized by Gryphons Alumni (ex scouts from Raffles Institution), Rainbow Centre and Pathlight School.
